Transition and emergency housing at U-Residence

Students can request discount vouchers (-15 euros) for short-stay rooms in U-Residence in case of an acute need of housing (e.g. public transport strikes, exams, etc.). 


International students in need of transition housing upon arrival in Brussels can also request a voucher if they wish to stay in U-Residence before moving to a more permanent housing solution.

U-Residence is located on the Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus offers 64 long-stay studios (12 month-contract) and 31 short-stay rooms with hotel service (1 night until 3 months maximum). The price of a one-night stay is 75 euros for a single room and 100 euros for a double room. A discount voucher entitles you to a discount of 15 euros per night, per person on the stated prices. The rooms are equipped with private bathroom, shower and kitchenette. There is Wifi, TV and daily housekeeping. Breakfast is not included.

Discount vouchers can be requested via infradesk [at] vub [dot] ac [dot] be with mention of the number of persons and the number of nights, as well as the special circumstances applying to the request. International students in need of transition housing should address themselves to international [dot] relations [at] vub [dot] ac [dot] be in order to request discount vouchers. However, the total number of vouchers that is granted yearly is limited.

After your discount voucher has been granted, a promotional code will be sent by email. This code should be used during the online room reservation on the U-Residence website. A ‘first come, first served’ principle applies: availability of the rooms cannot be guaranteed. Make sure to request your voucher and make your reservation in time!
