Content description

This workshop is designed to provide strategies for identifying PhD research topics and to conceptualize your PhD research ideas. This journey is made up of several stages with each stage involving several processes. The lecture series complement the work you do with your promoters and help you to position your PhD within a broader research context. The goal is to guide you to evolve an idea from the initial thought through the various stages to conceptualize it and to help you to begin the process of settling in your research domain.

Evaluation based on the following metrics:

30% course participation;

40% assignment;

30% group work

Learning result / Competences:

Upon completion of this workshop, you should be able to position your PhD within the context of your research domain; to formulate unique and innovative research questions; to identify research objectives; to justify your chosen research methodologies; and to understand strategies related to research scaling, data collection and analysis as well as planning research paper.
