LaTex for junior researchers

LaTeX is a high-quality typesetting system, with features designed for the production of technical and scientific documentation. LaTeX is the de facto standard for the communication and publication of scientific documents. But even for the lay-out of straightforward text, LaTeX produces well-structured documents of a quality and beauty that is simply beyond word processors such as MS Word. LaTeX is not a word processor. Instead, LaTeX encourages authors not to worry too much about the appearance of their documents, but to concentrate on getting the right content. Furthermore, LaTeX is secure, highly portable, and free.

Drawbacks? Sure. LaTeX has a fairly steep learning curve. That's why a little help can be very useful.

Subjects covered include:
* titles, sections, chapters, and the like
* internal referencing, footnotes, citations and bibliography
* lists, tables and figures
* mathematical and technical formulas
* getting things done faster with macros
After the workshops you will be able to typeset almost any text in LaTeX and produce a beautiful dissertation.

For whom?

For all young researchers who want to write scientific articles and texts using LaTeX.
