In this workshop you will learn how to translate your research into a clear and convincing story for a presentation or poster, and to create powerful slides.

We focus on the following topics:

  • Structure: tell your story in a logical way
  • Simple: simplify a complex story without being too simple
  • Impact: achieve the desired outcome with your presentation or poster
  • Attention: grab the audience’s attention
  • Design: create appealing slides / posters
  • Photos and figures: where to find them and how to use them best

This workshop is aimed at doctoral students from all disciplines. The number of participants is limited to 15.


When?             24th of October 2017, 9:30am – 4:30pm

Where?             Campus Etterbeek: Morning in room D.2.20 and from 13u00u on in room E.0.03.

Please be aware of the fact that the cancellation and no-show policy of VUB applies. Cancellation of your participation is only allowed up to 48 hours before the start of the course. Otherwise, the policy as described on the doctoral school website will be followed.
