Webmail allows you to access, send, receive and manage your e-mail through a web browser.
If you don't receive emails anymore on your webmail account, you are probably receiving them in your new Office 365 account.
Office 365 is the combination of the well-known office programmes (word, excel, ...) with an online component. This means that you can access and edit your documents from any mobile device at any time.
Besides editing online you can also edit documents in your locally installed Microsoft Office suite. For this, students can download Microsoft office for free (max. 5 times) once you activated your Office 365 account.
1. When will I get access to Office 365?
The IT department of the university is doing a phased migration of the student population. As soon as it's your turn, you will receive an e-mail on your VUB-mail with the subject "Student migration O365”.
In order to use the Office 365 account you just need to reset your password and check some settings. How to do this can be found on PointCarré.
ATTENTION: the reset will only work once you have received e-mail from the Office 365 team.
The activation of your Office 365 means also the start of your @vub.be email address. The e-mails sent to your @vub.ac.be address will be forwarded to your new address @vub.be.
Visit portal.office.com and log in with your new email address: name [dot] lastname [at] vub [dot] be + password.
