The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences offers only one English taught programme
>>> Master of Science in Educational Sciences

The Department of Educational Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel has two educational programs in the field of education: Educational Sciences and Adult Educational Science.
Students who start the program, bring a multitude of interests with them, but they have one common incentive: working with people.

This means that the Educational Sciences operate multidisciplinary and multifunctional.

Multidisciplinary means we rely on the insights of philosophy, sociology and psychology. Philosophy offers us mental models, human and world views and questions them. Sociology gives us insights into the social systems and relationships, and psychology offers us to learn more about the people who we work with.

Multifunctional refers to the three levels (or function profiles) in which we operate: the level of guidance, management and policy development. These levels are coordinated by the important role of research which is central in the programs and which associates the training levels with each other.

The Educational Sciences have a strong link with practices and follow developments within society including the fields of art education, culture policies, community building, diversity, ageing, educational renewal, educational environments, ...
