The first step to start your master's thesis in Linguistics and Literary studies is to register your master's thesis course unit through the Student SelfService.

After that you need to fill in the master's thesis form and  hand it in at the department secretariat (building B, 5th floor, room 5B404)

Submission of master's degree thesis

The master's thesis should be submitted before:

  • First session (1st semester) => 8 January 2018 Note: If you want to graduate in February 2018 you should submit an online request (before the 1st of November 2017)
  • First session (2nd semester) => 29 May 2018
  • Second session => 06 August 2018

The finished thesis must be delivered to your department (building B, 5th floor, room 5B404) before the deadline.

Submission checklist

  • Minimum 30,000 words, excluding the appendices. Use a standard font, e.g. Times 12, and 1.5 line spacing.
  • The summary (in English and in the language in which the master's thesis has been written) must consist of 500-1000 words
  • The abstract must be a brief statement in English of 100 to 150 words; moreover, there must be a series of key words in English that describe the essence of the master's thesis. All of these must be bound together with the master's thesis.
  • The number of hard copies to be submitted is equal to the number of panel members + an additional copy for the library. Together with the hard copies, the student must submit an electronic version (in MS Word format) on an electronic carrier (USB stick or DVD).
